Clara George & Annie Savage

Clara George is an alternative rock musician based in Charlottesville, VA. Annie Savage is the award winning fiddler of The Savage Hearts. As a duo, they bring together their own musical styles to create a unique sound that fuses the alternative and folk music worlds.

Clara George was raised in the Rocky Mountains of Idaho. She holds degrees from Interlochen Arts Academy and Oberlin Conservatory of Music. She has won numerous awards as a classical oboist, and also performed on the Lilith Fair tour with her first band, Surrender Dorothy. She has performed with Sarah McLachlan, Martina McBride, and Sheryl Crow. She also serves as a hospice musician through a partnership between The Front Porch and Hospice Of The Piedmont.

Annie Savage, is a vibrant performer with a career that spans violin, harp, and voice. She has released 15 albums, sharing the stage with a diverse body of performers including Aretha Franklin, The Infamous Stringdusters, and Alejandro Escovedo. Annie studied at the Interlochen Arts Academy, Oberlin Conservatory, and The Boston Conservatory at the Berklee College of Music. Comfortable in a variety of styles, Annie Savage is currently a professor of music education with a concentration in strings at JMU and a touring clinician and musician.
